Why We Are Here
The Covenant opened in 1984, as one of only a handful of urban-based adolescent treatment programs in the country. We set out to help youth become drug and alcohol free, regardless of their ability to pay for services. Since then, we have helped thousands of young people recover from chemical dependency and go on to lead healthy, productive lives.
What We Do
The Covenant provides comprehensive Day Treatment Programs specifically designed for teens and their families. Through a combination of public and private funding, we are able to offer services with no financial barriers for clients. A sliding fee scale, with services provided at no cost to those who qualify, makes treatment readily accessible to all in need.
The Day Treatment Programs and subsequent Aftercare and Continuing Care Programs, focus on assisting the young person to become chemically free, while also meeting other developmental needs. Important elements of recovery include active participation in a Twelve Step self-help group, a strong peer-based support system, and the involvement of family.
In addition to the Day Treatment Programs, The Covenant provides Assessments for chemical dependency and dual diagnosis (the challenging combination of chemical dependency and mental health issues). Our three Prevention Programs serve to help children avoid chemical dependency and other harmful behaviors later in life.
A Part of the Whole...
The Covenant is supported as a contract agency of the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Cuyahoga County and maintains contracts and referral agreements with the Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court and many other health and human service organizations. We are a participating agency of United Way Services.
